Staff Positions

Cabin Specialists (General Counselors)

Cabin Specialists get to enjoy the full-time, hands-on, “big sister” experience of living and playing with campers! Cabin Specialists live in cabins with campers and spend the day with them — participating in activities, engaging at meals and providing support — while sharing in the excitement of daily life at camp. If you are at least 19 years old and love working with children, this is the job for you!

Specialty Counselors

If there is a “best of both worlds” at camp, it’s the life of a Specialty Counselor! As a Specialty Counselor, you will live with campers and, during our daily activity periods, you will share your expertise in a program area. This job is perfect for you if you are at least 19 years old, have a skill or talent to share, and also want the classic camp counselor experience.

Program Directors (Leadership Staff)

Each of our program areas is led by one or more Program Directors (“PD”) who oversees the curriculum and supervises staff, ensuring that our campers get the very best instruction. You’ll also be an important member of our leadership team, assisting with camper supervision, staff mentorship and helping to coordinate fun evening activities and special events!

Group Leaders (Leadership Staff)

Cabin Row is the heartbeat of Bryn Mawr… and our Group Leaders (“GL”) are the staff members who keep it all running smoothly! Each GL is responsible for taking care of the campers and staff in her age group, supporting their emotional/physical health and helping to ensure a welcoming environment for everyone. If you are a college senior or graduate who has some camp experience, and if your ability to stay organized is outmatched only by your sense of fun and compassion, this position may be perfect for you!

Senior Leadership Staff

Mentorship and role modeling are at the core of the Bryn Mawr staff experience, and the tone is set by our Leadership Staff, including Directors, Division Heads, Parent & Staff Liaisons, Programming Directors, and the Operations Team. These experienced members of our staff supervise programming, communications and life on Cabin Row. They support our staff and campers with a continuous presence throughout the day.

Program Specialists

Along with cabin staff and leadership staff, we hire very skilled specialists in program areas such as tennis, athletics and adventure. These specialists live in separate accommodations, have additional responsibilities to help keep camp running smoothly, and are important role models for our campers.

Medical Staff

Our medical staff is a crucial and highly valued part of the camp community! Our comfortable, air conditioned Health Center is run by a team of nurses who dispense medications, triage and treat, respond to any medical needs that arise, and work with our camp doctor to help ensure a healthy and safe environment for our entire camp community. Camp nurses must be licensed RNs — we will help you obtain Pennsylvania licensing!

Support Staff

Camp could not function properly without our Support Staff. In the kitchen, they assist in the preparation, serving and cleanup of three meals and two snacks daily, plus additional duties as requested. Laundry staff work at our commercial facility in Honesdale, and our maintenance staff cares for our beautiful property and facilities.
