Jane and Dan Kagan

Jane and Dan have been the Directors at LBMC for almost three decades. As the parents of three daughters who all grew up at camp and the proud grandparents of a Bryn Mawr Angel (plus three grandsons!), they have been immersed in camp from every perspective.
Jane’s connection to Bryn Mawr started before she was born. Her mother was a camper in the 1940s and taught the Kagan girls the Alma Mater. Jane spent over 25 years at Jeff Lake Day Camp, owned by her family, and expanded their legacy to Bryn Mawr. Whether she is reading a bedtime story, serving meals in the Dining Hall, playing pickleball, or taking a peaceful nighttime walk under the stars, Jane is dedicated to creating a meaningful experience for every camper.
Dan is a lifelong camper mentored by the legendary Morry Stein, former Director of Camp Echo Lake. A graduate of the University of Arizona with an MBA from Fordham, Dan has served as a board member for the Wayne County Hospital, Project Morry, and the American Camping Association. He is a past president of the Wayne County Alliance of Camps. During the summer, you’ll find Dan taking photos, playing gaga, and most importantly, chatting with campers as he walks his beloved dog, Bryn!

Britton & Drew Bitterman

Britton and Drew Bitterman have always been all-in on camp life. They’ve dedicated their careers to the power of the sleepaway camp experience, helping campers and staff grow, thrive, and build lifelong memories. Above all, they are deeply committed to protecting the positive values, traditions, and tight-knit community that make Bryn Mawr so special.
Drew grew up spending 13 consecutive summers at Camp Watitoh in the Berkshires. After graduating from Muhlenberg College with a degree in Business, he worked for an event marketing company before realizing that nothing beats the magic of summer camp. He followed his true passion into full-time camping in 2001 and hasn’t looked back since.
Britton’s story follows a similar path—starting as a camper right here at Bryn Mawr! She spent 11 summers as a camper, counselor, and Division Head across the camp world. After earning her History degree and teaching certification at Duke University, she spent five years teaching elementary school near Washington, D.C., while earning a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from The George Washington University. With her background in child development and school leadership, Britton jumped at the chance to pursue her ultimate dream of becoming a camp director, entering full-time camping in 2005.
Before becoming Directors at Camp Watitoh, Britton and Drew worked full-time right here at Bryn Mawr, serving as Program Director, Staffing Director, Assistant Directors, and ultimately Associate Directors under Dan and Jane, learning leadership’s ins and outs from their mentors.
For 13 years (2014–2026), Britton and Drew poured their hearts into being the Camp Directors of Camp Watitoh in Becket, MA. Bringing Drew’s childhood camp full circle, they spent over a decade fostering a close-knit tradition, guiding staff, and building a vibrant community where campers felt right at home.
On any given day at camp, you’ll catch Drew and Britton leading the charge in full costume for theme days (and sometimes just because!). Their favorite parts of the day are tucking campers in, saying goodnight, and sharing campfire bedtime stories.
Both Britton and Drew are deeply involved with the American Camp Association (ACA). Drew serves as an ACA Standards Visitor and has chaired both the Tri-State Camp Conference and the Joe Kruger Youth Development Conference. Britton has served on the board and as a director liaison for Emerging Professionals in Camping (EPIC), and also served as a Kruger Youth Development Conference Chair.
During the school year, Britton and Drew live in Maplewood, NJ, with their two camper kids, Shane and Helen, and their mini goldendoodle, Becket.

Say hello to the second generation of Kagan leadership at LBMC. Eliza has spent nearly every summer of her life at camp, growing from a spirited camper to a dedicated leader. She brings boundless enthusiasm, a deep love for camp traditions, and a fresh perspective that allows LBMC to evolve while staying true to its core values.
During the summer, Eliza is everywhere- playing silly games with junior campers, leading spirited special events, challenging senior campers to tennis matches, and welcoming prospective campers during tours and Explorers Weekend. She also runs our LIT (Leaders in Training) Program—helping to transition former campers into a staff role at camp! Her energy is infectious, and her commitment is unparalleled.
When the camp season ends, Eliza’s work continues. Throughout the year, she visits with new families, sharing the magic of LBMC with future campers. She manages our social media and advertising, helps with staff recruiting, and sets up the calendar- managing outside entertainers & special events, overnight trips, and daily programming at camp!
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Eliza majored in communications and served as president of her sorority. She also earned her MBA from Rutgers, which gave her the skills to lead LBMC with heart and strategy. With camp in her blood, she is proud to carry on the Kagan name and shape the future of LBMC for the next generation.
Jocelyn Glantz Associate Director

A vital part of our year-round team, Jocelyn is the heart of our staff recruiting and hiring process, ensuring that each summer is full of dedicated, passionate counselors. Her enthusiasm for camp began when she was very young, and she found her way back in 2011 as our Junior Camp Division Head. Three years later, she joined us full-time; her journey continued and ultimately led to her current role as Associate Director.
During the summer, Jocelyn is the steady, reassuring presence on Cabin Row. She knows every camper and ensures each one feels seen, heard, supported, and cared for. At bedtime, you will find her walking through cabins offering warm smiles and goodnight hugs—small moments that make a big difference for our campers.
Jocelyn is a graduate of George Washington University where she studied sociology and psychology and later earned her law degree from Brooklyn Law School. She spent 20 years supporting families as a college and graduate school consultant before bringing her love for camp and expertise to LBMC.
Above all, Jocelyn is a devoted camp leader, a trusted mentor, and an integral part of our leadership team. She and her husband, Jeremy, are the proud parents of three daughters, who have all been Bryn Mawr Angels.
Maxine Matovic Assistant Director

Known to our camp family as “Max,” she has been a beloved part of the LBMC family for over 20 years. Max first joined as a gymnastics counselor, later taking on roles as Group Leader, and eventually Senior Camp Division Head. Now, as Assistant Director, Max brings her talents and experience to Programming and Operations.
During the year, Max is a high school biology teacher in Cleveland, Ohio, and a highly respected USA Gymnastics official. Whether at camp or in the classroom, Max’s dedication to learning, growth, and fun shines through in everything she does. She has a loud voice and a heart of gold!
Bill Widman Associate Director

For more than forty years, Bill has been an integral presence at LBMC. He is the Director of Gymnastics and the Associate Director in charge of Safety and Security. Bill’s presence is steady and reassuring, yet his impact extends far beyond his title! From coordinating trips and movie nights to playing a key role in cherished (and top secret) camp traditions, Bill is at the heart of camp life. Whether coaching a team in the gym or sharing one of his infamous stories, his love for camp is always evident.
During the winter months, Bill lives in St. Mary’s, Ohio, where he is a retired special education teacher and a gymnastics coach at Flight Deck Gymnastics. Along with his wife, Carrie, they have three grown children, all of whom have been deeply connected to camp. His granddaughters are second-generation Byn Mawr Angels. Bill is a true legend at Bryn Mawr.
