Celebrating 100 Years of Sisterhood

One hundred summers ago, women had just been granted the right to vote. New York City was preparing to begin construction of the Holland Tunnel. The earliest commercial radio shows were about to hit the airwaves. And in Honesdale, Pennsylvania, Lake Bryn Mawr Camp opened the gates to welcome its first-ever Bryn Mawr Angels.

So much has changed in the century that has passed since that very first summer at camp. Today women aren’t just voting — we are leaders in government, business, technology, and culture. And while camp has grown and evolved, our core values — Loyalty, Beauty, Merit and Comradeship — remain unchanged. 

Our alumni know that camp is more than just a thing you did as a kid. It’s an experience that lives on in the lessons you learned, the friendships you made, and the memories you carry with you long after your trunks have been unpacked for the last time.
