Choosing A Camp

Jane & Dan Kagan Directors

Drew Bitterman Associate Director
Returning to lead the program staff for his 8th summer, Drew comes to Bryn Mawr with 17 years' experience as a camper and administrator at co-ed camps in Maine and the Berkshires. Drew grew up in Short Hills, New Jersey, and holds a degree in business from Muhlenberg College. Although he now works full-time as the Associate Director for LBMC, Drew spent time teaching skiing in Colorado and teaching English to schoolchildren. Drew will work closely with our Athletic Director and Program Directors to make sure each camper gets the most out of her summer instruction, and will bring his creativity to our daily schedule and special events once again this year.

Britton Bitterman Associate Director
Britton returned to Bryn Mawr after being a camper in the 1980's. She graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor's Degree in History and her elementary teaching certification. She taught in the Fairfax County public schools for four years as a 2nd and 6th grade teacher while receiving her Master's in Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University. Britton has been working full time in camping for the past six years, and joined the Bryn Mawr winter office in 2008. During the winter, she acts as the Associate Director, responsible for all aspects of the hiring process. Her summer responsibilities include working with Jane and the Division Heads on camper and staff issues, acting as an emotional support for all Program Directors, and overseeing the Explorer's Program and Girls Circle Program.

Bill "Troy" Widman Assistant Camp Director/Director of Gymnastics
As Assistant Camp Director, Bill is an integral part of every girl's summer, both in ways that she is aware of and, often, in ways that she is not. From inter-camp practice to movies and trips, Bill helps juggle many of the variables of camp life and keeps our camper and staff schedules up to date. Bill is also in charge of evening security. 2011 will also be Bill's 30th year as Bryn Mawr's Gymnastics Director! As a professional gymnastics coach year-round, Bill coaches level 5-10 gymnasts at home in Ohio. He is also a former Ohio High School Gymnastics Coach of the Year. Bill holds a Masters Degree in Health and Physical Education from Bowling Green State University, where he was an active member of the gymnastics team. He has taught high school physical education for more than 20 years.

Audrey Fendell Office Administrator
Audrey graduated from Syracuse University with her Bachelors of Science and received her Masters in Nursing from Columbia University. Audrey worked in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at New York Hospital and Babies Hospital in NY. She was also an Associate in Nursing in the Graduate Program at Columbia University. Audrey is in her 14th summer with Bryn Mawr, managing the winter office.

Peter Lai Director of Operations
ll day, every day, Peter Lai makes things at Bryn Mawr run smoothly. Whether it's making sure that everyone has the equipment they need or setting up and taking down special events, Peter is always the first one on site and the last one to leave. Despite all of this, Peter is never too busy to share a smile with a camper or hand out ice cream at snack time. Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and accounting from the University of Reading, an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and a Master of Education degree from Beaver College. During the winter he is a middle school math teacher at Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. He has worked at Bryn Mawr for 26 years.

Alicia Martinez-Fidelman Camp Relations Coordinator
Alicia will continue to manage the office this summer, as well as serving as our Parent-Camper Liaison for her second summer at LMBC. She is the person to call if you need to change your phone call time or have logistical questions regarding your daughter. Alicia graduated from Central Missouri State University with her B.S. in Broadcast and Film Journalism. She was an associate producer for the CBS Evening News Weekend Edition and, more recently, is a Public Relations Representative for Freelance Media Consultant. Alicia is also the mother of Upper Junior, Hannah.

Bob Ditter Clinical Social Worker
Bob specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents and their families. He brings his clinical training together with his knowledge of young people and organizational development for a powerful combination of programs, including staff interviewing, training and development, mentoring programs, child abuse prevention, team development, group process, and crisis intervention. The Bryn Mawr leadership team works year-round with Bob and is fortunate to have him come to camp during staff week, as well as days during the summer to work with campers and staff. This is Bob's 8th summer working at LBMC.

Joe Widman Director of Transportation and Laundry
During the year, Joe, who holds a Master of Arts in Education from Bowling Green State University, works as a Vocational Coordinator. He is an avid golfer who has taught the sport to children and adults. Joe has worked in summer camping for over 20 years, and is thrilled to be bringing his many skills to Bryn Mawr for his 10th summer.
